What a matchup we had last night as Friendtip took on The Association with Friendtip snagging the win, 2-1! The game got off to a quick start, and Friendtip found the net twice, with mwags2424 leading the charge scoring both goals. The first came in the first period on a power play, and he didn’t waste any time delivering the game-winner later in the second. Those two goals would prove to be enough to secure the W!
It wasn’t all smooth sailing for Friendtip, though. The Association got on the board thanks to a late power-play goal, but their offense came up short against a solid performance from Friendtip's goalie, Skiippy x 97, who made 9 saves on 10 shots. The pressure was on him, but he kept the team composed. lRxfio and SophisticatedX delivered a ton of grit with 6 and 18 hits, respectively. Those numbers show some serious physical play that definitely set the tone!
On the other side, WeThePeople#1829 faced a barrage with 24 shots against and tallied 22 saves. He kept The Association in the game, despite it being a rough night offensively - 10 shots with just 1 goal to show for it. With all the penalties on both sides, it was still a battle of wills, but in the end, Friendtip proved to be just a step ahead. Great stuff all around from both teams!
